After beginning his career in Korea as a prosecutor at the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors Office in Korea, Michael Kim went on to serve for many years in a wide range of roles as Prosecutor and Chief Prosecutor at the Mokpo Branch of the Gwangju District Prosecutors Office, Busan District Prosecutors Office, Suwon District Prosecutors Office, Uijeongbu District Prosecutors Office, Jeonju District Prosecutors Office, Seoul Western District Prosecutors Office, Seoul High Prosecutors Office and Busan High Prosecutors Office, gaining extensive investigative experience across diverse types of cases. He later worked for many years as a private attorney, handling not only criminal matters but also civil, administrative, tax and various other types of cases. He has also served in multiple public and advisory roles, including Legal Counsel to the Busan Metropolitan City Government and Pusan National University, Chair of the Investigation Review Committee of the Busan Metropolitan Police Agency, Criminal Mediation Committee Member at the Busan District Prosecutors Office and Adjunct Professor at Pusan National University School of Law, demonstrating a broad professional footprint. He has substantial investigative experience, having conducted numerous investigations into major fraud and embezzlement cases, violent crimes including sexual offenses and homicide, organized crime and narcotics offenses, tax crimes, media-related crimes involving fraudulent news entities, medical crimes and large-scale gambling cases. He has participated in many courtroom prosecutions and spent several years handling appeals challenging erroneous non-prosecution decisions. He has also developed expertise in emerging criminal matters such as voice phishing, romance scams, cryptocurrency-related crimes and stock investment fraud rings. Mr. Kim is known for his meticulous case analysis, ability to accurately identify the core issues and persuasive advocacy grounded in clear and compelling legal writing.
